Alex - This is Alex, who is a Senior this year. Some of his plans for this year of Yearbook are to work to get an award for this Yearbook and to have many social interactions to assist him later on in life. Alex’s goals for this year would be that he wants to understand how the real world works and how to use what he learns to help him through the next few stages of his life. One of Alex’s greatest accomplishments is that last year, he had the role of Group Leader and felt like he did well in that role.
Alexis - In the commencement of her first year of high school, Alexis hopes to contribute as much as she can into this year’s book. Her goal for this year is to earn good grades and do well in all of her classes. She wants to make this yearbook the best it can be and she wants to do her part in creating a keepsake of memories that will last forever.
Brenna - In the beginning of her last year in yearbook and high school, Brenna plans for the future on goals for the Lykos staff and her future career. For the past three years Brenna’s role in yearbook has been fact checking and her goal for her last year is to make the book creative and unique. After high school, she plans on attending The University of Hawaii and though she doesn’t know her major yet after a police ride along for her Government project she wants to join CSI.
Brooke - To start her first year as a student at Woodcreek, Brooke is more than ready to jump right in and tackle her freshman year. This year, she would like to focus on learning of all the different components yearbook has to offer. Her goals for both the school year and being on Lykos staff are to try her best, put in meaningful effort, make new friends and get the book done on time. Brooke is most proud of her soccer team competing to play in the State Cup Finals.
Brooke - Brooke, a senior in her last year at Woodcreek high school. Living with a family of 5 individuals, she loves spending time with her two brothers usually playing basketball or soccer. She enjoys baking and cooking, Brooke’s favorite treat is chocolate chip cookies accompanied with a glass of milk or vanilla bean ice cream. Joining yearbook was a gateway for her to make new friends and to gain experience in journalism and new writing techniques.
Emily - In the 2019-2020 year at Woodcreek High School, Emily grade 12 decided to come back to Lykos yearbook. Emily would love to take on the role of the art director and she wants to step out of her comfort zone this school year. This year in Lykos Emily wishes to be more active with the book and she wants to do more than what her designated role is. Emily said that her ultimate goal this year is, “to really get out there, the past 3 years I stayed in my own social bubble and it didn’t really do anything for me.” The greatest achievement Emily has is in her academics and the friendships she made throughout the years.
Evelyn - Evelyn is a sophomore at Woodcreek. She is applying for photo editor and she wants to improve on her photo editing skills. For the upcoming year, she is excited to take photo for this year's yearbook. She loves making everyday life pictures or boring picture interesting. Evelyn says “I like making things that you would would think that are really boring and things you see everyday just turn into a piece of art.” Her goals for the yearbook is for everyone to be able to look at the yearbook when there older and be excited and look back and see what high school was like back then. She is looking forward to this upcoming year and making our yearbook amazing.
Hailey - New to the school and to the high school environment, freshman Hailey joins Yearbook with high intentions to meet new people. Hailey’s main focus is to not only create an amazing yearbook but to get over her fear of public speaking and getting out of her shell when it comes to meeting new people. Last year, Hailey received the Hope of America award which exemplified her excellence in making a difference in the world even when no one was watching. Everyone has a purpose in the world and Hailey believes hers is to ”be here, be helpful, and to bring joy to those around [her].”
Hannah - Hannah is a freshman and a new yearbook member, she loves surfing and also plays soccer. Hannah is enjoyable to be around and wants everyone to have a fun and stress free experience in yearbook. Hannah’s ultimate goal for the yearbook this year is a colorful, high coverage book, and to get it done right. Her proudest achievement is being able to stay focused on her education even with distractions all around her. “I want to make it fun for everyone, especially the seniors so that they all have a good last year here.”
Jessica - Jessica, a Junior at Woodcreek High School this year may be shy when you first meet her although is very outgoing happy. Meeting the yearbook adviser, Mrs. Weidkamp was one of the best things that have happened to her because Mrs. Weidkamp introduced Jessica to yearbook,. Being in yearbook helped and is continuing to help her overcome her shyness. Jessica’s dream job is to be a professional photographer she has always loved learning new things and after learning how to properly take photos she feels it is what she is meant to do. If Jessica could have three super powers without any limitations or consequences to the power she could be able to conjure anything as long as she knew where it was. She forgot her chromebook quite a few times last year and knew exactly where it was. Also she would be able to understand how people were feeling and understand what their intentions to their actions were. The last power she would have would be teleportation so she would always be on time and be able to sleep in longer.
Jillian - Jillian is in 9th grade. She is excited for photographing and getting those top tier photos. Her favorite achievement is how much community service work she’s done to get into the California Scholarship Federation. Her goal is to make an amazing book with our miraculous theme. Jillian wants people to love the yearbook as much as we do because it’s our memories as young adults.
Kaeleigh - At the beginning of Kaeleigh’s sophomore year she explains how she wants to continue being a staffer this year in Lykos. Some of her favorite hobbies are mountain biking, surfing and trap shooting. She is on the JV mountain biking team and one of her proudest accomplishments would be making it to state last year. After high school she plans on going into the military to be a nurse. The quote she will always live by is “Life is beautiful and there's so much to smile about.”
Kamryn - Kamryn, who is a freshman and a member of Lykos Yearbook, is hoping this year to contribute by taking photos and designing the book and hopes to improve her graphic design skills in the process. She’d like to have good communication with the rest of the staff. Her ultimate goal for the book is for the theme to be clearly expressed and communicated and for everyone to know that she worked hard on it. She wants the theme to be consistent and spread out evenly across the book. Something she is most proud of are the good grades she has earned even though she has a pretty busy schedule.
Kiera - Kiera, who is a freshman is excited to grow her skills in photography and graphic writing throughout this year. Her ultimate goals for the school year are to get out there, meaning to get to know more people in the school and in her classes and, to get involved with more activities at school such as clubs. She hopes that she becomes good friends and classmates with her fellow yearbook-ers and that there is a warm, welcoming environment in the classroom throughout the whole year. As for her goals for the book, she wants this years yearbook to have a beautifully portrayed theme and she hopes that it will win some awards for its great design, photography, etc. She is proud of making it all the way to high school and pretty soon, going into college.
Madison - Madison, a sophomore here at Woodcreek, is crazy about more than just yearbook. She also loves dogs, the beach, and tennis. If she had a superpower, she would want to use X ray vision to find lost objects. She added that if she could travel anywhere, she would visit the Bahamas to be near the water and hold starfish, like she did when she was younger. Madison explained, “We go to the beach every year. I really like that because I was born on the beach. It’s like my second home.”
Melina - As Melina starts her junior year and third year in Lykos Yearbook, she explains that her top goals for this year are to meet deadlines and come up with some funky, fresh designs. Her favorite classes are Yearbook and Environmental Science. Eventually Melina wants to go to a four year college to study Environmental Science and potentially run track. One of her many achievements was during her Sophomore year when her four by four relay team went all the way to masters to try and reach state.
Mia - Mia, a 10th grader, is anticipating being able to show off her designing skills to the school and sticking to the theme of the yearbook. Mia has been designing since middle school and is excited to be able to show it off through the book. She also would like to do as much as possible and always be able to make it as great as it can be. Something that she has achieved and is happy about is getting most of her harder classes out of the way. Mia also does mountain biking and she passed five people while during a race which she is very proud of that.
Ocean - Ocean, a sophomore at Woodcreek High School has 2 older siblings, a brother and a sister, with a total of 4 immediate family members. Some of Ocean’s hobbies consist of photography, art, and editing photos and her favorite food is Domino’s cheese pizza. Ocean joined yearbook because she wanted to name it as experience on job and college applications; Her goal for the book this year is to have more representation for all the different students at Woodcreek.
Olivia - Ready for her last year of high school as a senior, One of Olivia’s goals for this year’s yearbook is to get it done on time and make a yearbook that everyone enjoys. Somethings Olivia enjoys doing is Cheer and Stunt last year olivia’s stunt team made it to states. Olivia also mentioned that she wants to live in Utah. When she graduates from highscool she wants to go to a four year college and become a nurse. One of Olivia’s biggest achievements is getting NHS sophomore year. Something's Olivia enjoys to do with her friends is watching the sunset, hammocking, and taking pictures.
Owens - Just at the start of his journey here at Woodcreek High School, freshmen Owens shared that the main reason he joined yearbook was because it would be a new experience for his first year in high school. His proudest moment in school has been his ability to maintain good grades, especially in math.
Riley - At the beginning of her high school career, Riley, who is a freshman stated, “I would love to be an editor focusing on photography.” Her goal this year for the book is to make it fun and have lots of colors, and her goal for the school year is to get good grades. Riley’s greatest achievement is going to the Surf Cup soccer tournament and even though her team lost, they had a great time. In Lykos her role is yet to be decided, however, in soccer she plays goalie.
Sierra - Sierra (10) loves to write and hopes to become an Editor-In-Chief someday. Someone who edits people’s work; “I want people to pay me to correct them,” says Sierra. She is multi-talented, snowboarding since she was seven years old and getting into a high school level English course as a fifth grader. In her free time, she plays solitaire which to her “is the best game ever created!” She wants to make this year’s yearbook the best one yet.
Sofia - As Sofia starts her sophomore year at Woodcreek High School, she hasn’t quite figured out what part she would like to take on for this years book. Sofia would like to focus on making this year as personal as possible. She wants to take more pictures as well as interview a lot of people even if the interviews don’t make it in the book, and lastly she wants everyone to feel like they are included. Her ultimate goal for this year is to always try her best, put in good effort, and get good grades. Lastly, one of Sofia’s greatest achievements is that she has accomplished was still continuing to play instruments even though she decided band was no longer for her anymore, she states, “I am just really proud that I maintained the ability to play instruments.” She is still learning but instruments are a huge part of her life.
Tyler aka "Chang" - Tyler, or Chang, a nickname he picked up in his freshman year, is in 12th grade. This year his overall goals for yearbook is to make this year’s unlike all others. To have its own 2019-2020 spin. “There’s so many times that we rush the moment or take ourselves out of it with our camera to take a snapshot of it when it would mean more if we were to actually live in that moment.” For him, experiencing the moment with his eyes makes it that much more memorable than to watch it through a camera lens. Currently, he is on the football team and is one of the team captains, which is one of his greatest accomplishments this year. He hopes to keep the year moving smoothly, have some fun and be remembered by making a difference.
Yasameen - Yasameen (12), is a yearbook staffer who is passionate about writing and editing. She really wanted to focus on getting quality coverage and representing all of the different people at our school. Outside of yearbook, one of Yasameen’s goals is to branch out and meet new people that will make her final year of high school amazing! Her greatest accomplishment is that she was able to get into the Kaiser Preceptorship Program. Yasameen said, “That is my proudest achievement because it was stressful and hard to go through… but I got it, and it was an amazing experience.”
